Privacy choices
Cookies, local storage, and your choices
The tools and games use local browser storage for progress and a first-party cookie for aggregate on-device activity. Optional analytics and advertising require production configuration and appropriate consent.
Local progress, theme, and activity
ClueMotive stores game progress and statistics under versioned LocalStorage keys. This is needed to restore a daily game after reload and to maintain local streaks. It does not identify an account because ClueMotive has no accounts.
The cluemotive.theme first-party functional cookie remembers your light or black theme choice for up to one year. The site uses the light theme when this cookie is absent.
If you choose Allow activity statistics, the cluemotive.activity.v1 first-party cookie keeps aggregate page visits, tool searches, daily game results, and active-day streaks in this browser for up to one year. Practice sessions are excluded. Declining prevents this optional cookie from being created, and the activity panel provides a reset control.
Optional technologies
Google AdSense publisher code is present so Google can verify the site and, after approval, serve advertising. Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity remain disabled unless separately enabled. These services may use cookies or similar technologies according to their documentation and the consent state supplied by a certified platform.
Withdraw or change consent
Use the Privacy and cookie settings control in the footer to reopen Google’s supported consent interface where it applies. The local activity preference can be changed from this page or the activity panel. The theme can be changed from the header toggle. Deleting browser site data removes local game progress and saved preferences.
QA mode
A documented internal QA build flag disables analytics and advertising for testing. It must not be used to manipulate ordinary user traffic or measurement.
