How Missing Letters works

Each round shows a word with one or more internal letters removed, plus a concise meaning clue. Enter the complete word rather than only the hidden characters. A correct answer earns ten points, or five after using a letter reveal.

The daily set contains five rounds at one difficulty selected for that date. Easy uses shorter familiar words and one missing position. Medium hides two letters. Hard uses longer vocabulary and usually hides three, while still preserving the first and last letters as anchors.

Read the whole pattern

Start with the clue’s meaning, then use the visible letters to test the spelling. The number of positions is exact: a seven-character pattern always needs a seven-letter answer. Pay attention to repeated letters, because each blank represents its own position.

If several words seem plausible, check whether every visible letter is in the right place. Reveal one letter when you need a nudge; the reduced score keeps the hint useful without making it free.

Fair daily and unlimited practice

Daily word order and blank positions are deterministic, so all players receive the same challenge. Practice lets you choose difficulty and generate another set without recording daily activity or changing your streak.

Common questions

Do I enter only the missing letters?

Enter the complete word. This makes the answer clear even when several positions are hidden.

What changes with difficulty?

Word length, familiarity, and the number of hidden internal letters all increase.

Can I skip a word?

Yes. Skip reveals the answer and advances the round without points.
